Emotional Support

A cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming and issues of anxiety, depression and anger are not uncommon.  Additionally, dealing with the reality of both the diagnosis and treatment is frequently accompanied by the challenges of managing work, family, household, and many other aspects of your life.

There are many resources available and most cancer treatment centers can direct you to specific areas that will help you address your specific needs. Social workers can help with many of the management issues you may have. Support groups offer the opportunity to share concerns and problem solve with other people diagnosed with cancer. Local and national ovarian cancer organization can also provide resources that you may find helpful in the cancer experience.

The experience of cancer is not only a physical one as patients are affected on many levels of being.  Whatever your challenges may be, being proactive in seeking out those people and agencies that can provide assistance to you in the cancer experience will add to your overall care.
